these problems?
2. Describe a classroom with conducive physical environment.
3. What are the importance of routine in the classroom management?
1.
ReplyDeleteDiscipline problems can be caused by so many factors. The most common is a poorly managed classroom. Rooms that are not conducive to learning (e.g. overcrowded, poor ventilation and lighting, disorderly positioned furniture, inappropriate seating arrangement, near sources of noise) easily distract students and make them lose focus. Hence, they tend to misbehave.
Other factors to be considered are the students’ individual attitudes, interests, and abilities. They have different characteristics which can be traced to the differences in family background, physical and mental capacities, and emotional traits.
As teacher, to be able to handle these disciplinary problems, a lot would depend on their knowledge and skill. They should be able to switch from one methodology or technique to another, as the need arise. Their personal and emotional attributes are also important in handling or preventing discipline problems. They should have patience and compassion when dealing with the students, and showing genuine concern and care. And lastly, their teaching style will also determine how the students will respond.

A classroom to be considered conducive for learning should first and foremost be CLEAN. Second, there should be proper ventilation with the right room temperature, meaning not too hot nor too cold. The lighting should also be right, not too bright to put a glare in the eyes of the students, but neither should it be dark that seeing would be difficult or impossible. Third, possibilities for unnecessary noise should also be eliminated so as to minimize distractions for the students. And lastly, there should also be proper seating arrangement, as this could make a difference in keeping the students motivated and attentive.
3.
Following a good routine efficiently contributes a lot to good room classroom management. Not only does it help in accomplishing everything that you have planned (lessons, activities, goals) it also serves as a guide in controlling student behaviour. Routine helps students understand expectations and boundaries. This help them feel more secure, knowing the every step in a procedure or what is expected of them. In addition, routine can also help build a teacher’s confidence knowing that she is following a a well-planned procedure.
1. External and internal factors are the source of problems inside the classroom. Some examples of the external factors are the physical variables such as the proper ventilation, temperature, fixtures and etc. When the classroom setup is not conducive for learning the tendency, students will get distracted and their attention span is very short. Behavior, values, thoughts and even their problems are the internal factors that are also need to be taken into account. This can also affect the students’ drive in class.
ReplyDeleteOf course, not all students are the same, so the teachers should handle the problems accordingly. They must get to know their students well so that their actions would not get them to cause another one. Teachers should have a lot of patience because being a teacher can be really stressful. In order for the students to trust them, teachers should obtain warm attitude, they should look approachable and not intimidating.
2. A classroom is really important. This is where the learning exactly happens. So in order for the students to get all the knowledge they needed it should be conducive. As I’ve stated, physical variables are important. The classroom shouldn’t be too warm or too cold. Light shouldn’t be too bright or too dim. Noises from the outside shouldn’t be heard or can barely hear. Chairs and tables are neatly aligned while boards and floors are clean. With this kind of classroom, students may feel at ease whenever they’re in.
3. The importance of routine in the classroom management is to maintain school setting itself. Having a routine helps the teacher to manage the time. The pattern helps the teacher to be more responsible since they will think and plan ahead of time which make them look ready for most of the time. According to K.J. Wagner, routines and procedures are the key to a well-managed, organized classroom. I have to agree on that because routine helps you to avoid having problems and whenever that occurs you’re sure that you have back up plans.
1. One of the key methods to effective classroom management is the quick handling discipline problems. Begin with the PHYSICAL appearance of the classroom, it should be clean, well lighted and ventilated. Environment attracts student to behave properly. Second the POSITIVE ATTITUDE of the teacher, if the teacher acts positively in front of the class, students also attracts the positivity aura that will help them to be more comfortable to the teacher. Less fear and hesitations that I think is the good start of communication which is also important in a classroom. If there's a COMMUNICATION discipline is easily be achieve. Third could be the TEACHING STYLE. If the teacher aren't reaching every students, they can become bored, disinterested and restless. Remember every student has their own learning style and the area where they excel and lastly the PERSONAL PROBLEM of the student whether family related, socio-economic or peer's issues like engaging to fraternities. As a teacher you are also responsible to deal with. Act as a counselor, talk to him or even try to ask an help by referring him to the school counselor that will help him to at least conquer the personal issue.
ReplyDelete2. Classroom defined as a mood or atmosphere created by a teacher, the way he/she communicate with the students and the way the physical environment is set out. Physical set out refers to the physical arrangement of the classroom. The classroom should be well lighted, clean, noise free and has a comfortable temperature not so warm and not too cold, on the other hand regarding to the mood or atmosphere created by the teacher refers on how the teacher interacts to his/her students, how she/he handle and approach them and their concerns and most importantly how she/he deliver his/her lesson.
3. Routine is very important especially to the part of the teacher, familiarizing of the plan builds a confidence that could help him/her to accomplish the goals in time and accurately and for the part of the students, the feeling of being secure in a way that they know what step they have to do or next to that.
=)
1. First would be the attitude of the teacher towards the students and her lecture. Second would be the physical factors that have a major impact on the learning process of the students. Example of this are unreasonable number of students inside the classroom, unwanted noise coming outside and inside the classroom, uncomfortable surroundings and etc. and also the values students gain, have and learned in their home related to discipline contributes as well. In reality we will surely face some problems like this. As future educators we must keep in mind that a classroom setting should always be auspicious toward our students. We teachers should be the first one to provide our students a good example. We ourselves must be disciplined. Our aura inside the classroom influences the student’s attitude throughout the class. Let them feel that they belong, make them part of the class. Give your students assurance so they will feel that you do care for them despite the problems you have. Teachers should be respectful to the students in order for her to be respected. As teachers we must provide our students a compassionate and caring attitude.
ReplyDelete2. A compelling classroom is a major factor in the learning process. It must have the exact temperature, right lightning, good ambiance and unnecessary noise free. The classroom should always be clean (chairs, tables and boards) and must smell good for the students to feel comfortable and interested and excited to go to school.
3. Everything should be planned and scheduled especially in school. If we follow a routine we will not be confused on what will be the next step or what we will make and do. In regards to the students they will feel that you are really ready to instruct them and they will feel the same way too. Every time that you will teach them they will feel ready to learn as well. ♥

ReplyDelete1. In my opinion, if the teacher cannot properly manage the class is the biggest factor that adds to the contribution of discipline problems in the classroom. Especially to those teachers who are new because they do not know what they will expect unless they are already inside the classroom. I believe that every first time teachers would feel a bit of a shock or wouldn’t be able to handle the class as to what he/she had planned. In my own experience, when I was elementary student, my classmates usually make noise and do not listen to teachers whom we know is new, but are terrified to our old teachers. To be able to handle these problems, classroom management with effective discipline plan should be done. The teacher should always begin each class period with a positive attitude and expectations; come to class prepared with lessons for the day and make sure to have all the materials and methods ready to maximize time and will help maintain discipline in the classroom. The teacher should also be able to allot time accordingly and make proper use of time to avoid rushing. Lastly, there should be a posted discipline plan that the teacher would follow consistently for effective classroom management. Depending on the severity of the offense, this should allow students a warning before punishment begins. If a student becomes verbally confrontational, the teacher should be always be calm and do not get into yelling with the student.
ReplyDelete2. Classroom environment can affect and influence the students’ achievement and participation in class. The most important aspect of classroom environment is the relationship between the teacher and students. Teachers who are concerned with students’ emotional, social and academic needs have been found to encourage students’ involvement in class. An effective classroom climate is also the one that teachers’ authority to organize and manage is accepted by his/her students. The physical arrangement of the classroom should be attractive, well lighted, comfortable and colorful. The physical aspects such as temperature, noise, and time of the day can also affect the ability to concentrate and maintain attention so it should also be a concern to the teacher.
3. According to Linda Shalaway, “Routines are the backbone of daily classroom life. They facilitate teaching and learning…. Routines don’t just make your life easier, they save valuable classroom time. And what’s most important, efficient routines make it easier for students to learn and achieve more." When routines and procedures are carefully taught, modeled, and established in the classroom, children know what’s expected of them and how to do certain things on their own. Having these predictable patterns in place allows teachers to spend more time in meaningful instruction.
1. There are many reasons that affects on how we discipline a class. One is lack of coordination with the environment of the class, second is overcrowded space which affects the mental readiness of the child. In addition, not only the physical elements of the room structure but also the relationship of the teacher within the students. If the teacher does have a good relationship with the student, this might also affect how discipline would be implemented.
ReplyDeleteTo deal with these aspects, one must build a well planned environment with controlled numbers of students to handle in each class. He must also be prepared of any problems that may arise to easily get things in control. Furthermore, to establish a good rapport to his students to know which specific strategy will apply, students indifferences contributes a large amount in applying discipline, hence the teacher must treat every individually the same to have the students trust and respect. As far as those things applies, it would be easier to engage the students on a healthy environment reach the class full development and have a fun learning experience.
2. A conducive physical environment has an adequate space to move in for such number of students. A well ventilated and lit room, organized shelves, tables and chairs to eliminate distractions. A calming ambiance to feel comfortable and interesting room design to gear up students that learning is a fun activity. These were just some that we need to consider having a pleasant environment to reduce any distractions to children’s learning.
3. Establishing a routine to a class is important for the students to set expectations, this lessens the anxiety of the students which also affects their learning. Not only that, it also contributes on controlling the negative and positive behaviour of the students. Creates a smoother atmosphere for both students and teacher that allows fewer opportunities of disruptions. This gives the students chance to learn greater responsibility by doing what they should accomplish, for example, after each lesson they should prepare the room again for the next subject, or to study in advance every after lesson for class participation. There are a lot of advantages on having a routine to any specific class, this not only gives a good classroom management but also on the part of the students maturity.

ReplyDeletedeal with these problems?
Begin each class period with a positive attitude and high expectations. If you see your students misbehave and you approach them negatively, you will get their misbehavior. This is an often overlooked aspect of classroom management. Come to class prepared with lessons for the day. In fact, fully prepare your lessons. Make sure to have all your materials and methods ready to go. Reducing downtime will help maintain discipline in your classroom. Work on making transitions between parts of lessons smooth. In other words, as you move from whole group discussion to independent work, try to minimize the disruption to the class. Have your papers ready to go or your assignment already written on the board. Many disruptions occur during transitional times during lessons.
2. Describe a classroom with conducive physical environment.
It is very difficult to give a lecture when at least half of the students’ backs are towards you. Because every once in a while I have to give lectures or stand at the front of the room to write on the board, it would be really nice to have had desks that I could move not only into small groups but a variety of other arrangements as well. I’m a really big fan of the circle, semicircle, and horseshoe arrangements, and this is impossible with a room of round tables. Having the round tables has forced me to adapt my teaching around group work, which the students love more anyway, and I have definitely made the best of what I have. I also have a very large bookcase that I use as a private class library from which students are free to check out books at any time. One really fun thing I do with my students each year is a Toga Party at the end of our mythology unit, and the physical environment is very conducive to this purpose. The students line op the tables to make one, long banquet-like table, make Greco-Roman columns out of construction paper and put them around the room, and dim lights so we can use candles like in ancient times. Upon reflection, I realize that you can’t necessarily control the physical environment in which a school assigns you to work, but you can work with it to the make the best of what you have.
3. What are the importance of routine in the classroom management?
THE classroom is a very special and important place for teaching and learning. Good and well managed classrooms will contribute a lot in the attainment of the objectives of the day to day lessons. It is here where the students and teachers spend the whole day in discussing, interacting, reciting and exchanging ideas regarding the lesson being taken up. It is therefore very important for a teacher to have a thorough knowledge on classroom management.
Management is defined as an act of planning, organizing, carrying on and controlling of people, equipment and processes for the attainment of goals. Applied to a classroom situation it is centered on two aspects: 1. Organization of the classroom, and 2. Classroom disciplines. Some of the things a teacher must consider in carrying out classroom management are consistency in the exercise and implementation of rules and regulations to be observed by the students once inside the classroom. It is very important for the teacher to involve the students in setting rules and regulations.

Students become overly dependent on teacher, Confrontation in class, another reason for discipline issues is that we may be dealing with students with many personal problems. Disruptions arise in our class, student becomes verbally confrontational If we aren't reaching every one of our students, they can become bored, disinterested and restless, every student has their own learning style and an area where they excel. If we are reaching these students by using a variety of methods, they are motivated and less likely to cause trouble.
Another reason for discipline issues is that we may be dealing with students with many personal problems.
As a teacher how do you these problems?
Begin each class period with a positive attitude and high expectations. Come to class prepared with lessons for the day. Work on making transitions between parts of lessons smooth. In other words, as you move from whole group discussion to independent work, try to minimize the disruption to the class. Have your papers ready to go or your assignment already written on the board. Watch your students as they come into class. Look for signs of possible problems before class even begins. Allow the students a few moments to talk with you or with each other before you start your lesson to try and work things out. Have a posted discipline plan that you follow consistently for effective classroom management. Depending on the severity of the offense, this should allow students a warning or two before punishment begins. Your plan should be easy to follow and also should cause a minimum of disruption in your class. For example, your discipline plan might be - First Offense: Verbal Warning, Second Offense: Detention with teacher, Third Offense: Referral.
2. Describe a classroom with conducive physical environment.
Classroom’s lighting and temperature will affect student achievement. They should be comfortable and conducive to student learning. Some students need more light than others; some may want it to be warmer or cooler than others. Make sure that the lighting in the room is adequate. If your room has windows with blinds, make sure that they are operable so that you use natural light as an additional lighting source. Plants are an excellent way to make any room look more welcoming. They also improve the air quality in air-conditioned buildings.
Make it attractive and functional. Consider grade/age level appropriateness, the type of classroom activities you will be implementing, and your particular style. The physical aspects of your room include room arrangement, seating, bulletin boards and black/white board displays and physical climate. Each of these should be carefully considered with both individual students’ needs and instructional goals in mind. The seating arrangement should be designed in a systematic way so that the organization of the seats helps the students to feel more organized. Make sure the room has only the amount of furniture that is functional and does not contain useless or non-essential furnishings. Additionally, seats should be arranged in such a way as to reduce traffic distractions.
3.What are the importance of routine in the classroom management?
Classrooms -- particularly those with young children -- need to have routines. These routines help you maintain order and also help the kids stay calm. If there is a set activity for every part of the day, you will be able to focus more on your teaching and less on giving instructions and generally controlling the class. This is just one of many reasons routines are important for teachers.

1. What contributes to discipline problems in the classroom ? As a teacher how do you
ReplyDeletethese problems?
A lot of factors may contribute to discipline problems in the classroom. The physical structure of the classroom is one, if the room is too crowded for the students and not well-ventilated, this will make the students feel unease thereby resulting in a distractive behavior to everyone else. Another source of the attitude problem of the student possible came from their homes. A disruptive family always gives rise to a problematic child that most of the time the behavior is brought at the school. Other source may be the child is not interested in the subject being taught so the tendency is for them to not listen to the teacher and instead talks to their seatmates. It is therefore important to address the sources so as not to complicate the problem. If the classroom is too small for the number of students then ask the head of the school if it’s possible to transfer in a much bigger room and always open any ventilation that the room has. If it really hot inside the room a teacher may allow the students to take off their outer clothes for as long as they inner clothes. With the disruptive family, provide extra time in helping the child cope up emotionally and if possible talk to their parents about it. A teacher must always be resourceful to make his/her lessons as interesting as possible by incorporating the interests of the students.
2. Describe a classroom with conducive physical environment.
First is to make the room well-ventilated, if it lacks electric fan then open all possible openings there is like windows and or doors. A well-lighted room is also important for the students to read and write more easily. Arrangement of the students is also important make sure not to group together students that have attitude problem. Put those who are somewhat slow learners in front so they can be addressed more. It is important also to organize the classroom, example the groupings and location of books and other materials used in teaching. Lastly, always keep the room tidy and clean at all times, remind the students from time to time to keep an eye for any trash and to be part in the cleanliness of the classroom.
3. What are the importance of routine in the classroom management?
Following a certain routine in a classroom management is vital in building a child’s ability to organize on their own since teachers are always regarded as role models. This is also important for the teacher because it will make her/his job easier because there is balance and harmony within the classroom therefore objectives can be easily achieved at the same time facilitation of learning is fluid since there is a clear path.
